I started this space when I was 21 with a dream of reviving the magic of the recording studio. To me, music is a process of exploration and discovery; experimentation and creation. I was concerned that modern music, with all its merits, was at risk of being subjected to the cookie-cutter approach of corporate hijackers; with an increasing amount of soulless, clinical, windowless studios encroaching on the individualism and creativity of boutique independent studios.

Being a musician myself, I found my way in music by blending old school methods of production with the whimsical and exciting elements of modern music, and I have always tried to reflect that in the space. Every studio exists in its own hemisphere, with a unique need to have a distinct personality. All music starts, first and foremost, at the studio, where it is made, shaped and blended into compositions that can change lives, hearts and minds. First Studios is intended as just one corner of the rich tapestry of the music scene in London, but one that is as unique as it can be.
